SHORELINE
Shoreline takes its inspiration from a Sicilian island where I spent my summers growing up.
It’s a place I am enamored with and many memories inspired me to create a bag bringing it all together and trying to transmit them to others.
The Bag can be dissected on three levels : wood, leather and rope.
The wood aims to recall the traditional Sicilian fishing boats, adding a touch of resistance and a look of resilience to the bag. The leather, embossed with patterns of a graphic work around negative spaces collected from the island itself highlights different elements taken from the landscape. As a finish, the handle made of rope with a leather end closes with a fishing knot.
This bag represents more than just the boat but an elegant look of what I kept from this sleeping volcano. It’s a bridge between the sea and the land, the elegant and the rustic, the past and the future.
