NOCTURNE COLLECTION
I took my inspirations from the moments I spent looking at the clash of waves in the sea as a kid in Bretagne. The roughness but also how beautiful it was. The calmness in the storm marked me and I translated it through bags.
I started making tests with different materials and went with folding leather and then painting on it. The leather makes it easy to create a structure that lasts and replicates the unpredictable movements. It remainds me of this uncontrolled control that the sea has. Each fold is unique and each piece of leather is as well.
I make the inside on specific measurement and wrap the leather around it. The inside, shapes the look of the outside, and decides in which direction will the bag go. With this technic, each bag is unique and has its own movements.
For the handle I am using different sizes of wooden branches that I clean and then wrap in leather. It’s making the shape of the wood implied but not shown. I like to play with dimension therefore the small bag has the biggest handles and the bigger one the thin handle.
Visualisations that will lead my vision for the development of the bags
